Does anyone know who the people were that were selling new Vincent de-compressor levers at the Stafford show a couple of years ago? I bought one but now that I want another I have not been able to locate them.
I know that the spares company claim to supply them but after waiting two months and finally getting one through the post this morning for 54 pounds and then being told that ' we always supply them in raw bronze, if you want it plated then you will have to do it yourself' I am not impressed and it is going back.

Cheers
Pete

Valve lifter levers

The club ones are cast by Ronnie Fleming from Cardenden in The Kingdom of Fife. He also does Rudge brake and clutch levers which are very similar. He doesn't plate them because many people prefer to arrange that for themselves, even if he had a plating plant, which he doesn't.
Just as good, but not much easier to obtain, and of course non-original are the small "trigger" decompressor levers. Paradoxically I have one on my Rudge because 1) I had one in stock and 2) it's a much neater solution.

Update on valve lifters

Finally I have a valve lifter lever that I am satisfied with. I tried Pelders as suggested but language difficulties and their not being very interested got in the way. In the end Mr Kemp gave in to some bullying and has managed to source some chromed levers for a reasonable price. As Russell admits the finish of the chrome is not wonderfull but it is certainly ok. Apparently the price is about £45, we will see when I get the credit card slip.

End of advertisement, that is more beer that you owe me Russ. In fact why not change the name of this forum to 'Vinparts'?:D
