Even though you say you won't ride it hard, Poor old Comet's have a hard time !, Well mine does !.
The rev's at 70 mph are a bit high, I tried a twin rear sprocket, But with my size and the stuff I carry, I needed more Power.
Just seen in MPH, Graham is soon doing a bit on wonky barrels, I had a bad one on my L/ning when it nipped up at 7 thou clearance, So now 10 .thou. Good Luck, Bill.

Well I could use an E7/10AS, MK2, a TT Carb that I have.....and I weigh about 175lbs with all the gear on, so maybe the twin sprocket will work for me?

That's the way to think !, I have a 45 tooth rear sprocket for my 560 cc, I always was a dreamer, And it's all I have left, So I will have to slim down a bit !, I file the pockets off the big type pistons ,You see you need those files again !! The valves tend to rub the inside with Mk2 cams,, I ran 12 to 1 in the 70s on petrol, On the road and track, When it was like Avgas at the pumps. All Good Fun, Bill.

You know you're an outcast when you're abused in public. I'm not known as the Black Sheep for nothing - and files, bastard or otherwise had no part in it.

Oh -- Merry Christmas to all!

Started the drive side engine plate. It still needs lots of material removed, but wanted to check and make sure the big hole was in the correct place, before I invested any more time. It is thicker and larger than normal. The plan is to have the engine plates help support the swing arm.

PS... I didn't realize that avatar was a black sheep. Kinda looks like a swamp donkey that was a refugee from a forest fire.
