Posted on behalf of someone who contacted me.

If you have any info, please email them directly at albert.fellner@outlook.com

I have a coronet 3-wheeler-microcar (1957, 1 of 7 survivors)

I was reading they used Armstrong shocks (see attached picture).

I found out that Vincent motorcycles also used Armstrong shocks – so I was thinking you might be able to help me.

Do you have an idea where I can get these shocks or if somebody could refurbish them for me?

Thanks and nice greeting from the sunny Austria,

Albert Fellner

I would really like to know the exact AVO part number of the coil over shock that best replaces the Series D Armstrong Shock

Can't help you Peter, sorry. I think people who have bought them made the selection themselves. If you contact AVO they might have a record of what people bought, but I wouldn't bet on it!
I have been trying for some time to get someone to lend AVO an original so that they can put a specification on record. This would be of benefit to all D owners as the "off the shelf" items are close enough but not identical. AVO have said they are willing to produce a slightly modded item to best match the original, so it is a shame this is not being taken up. Rob

You will need to contact them because they are another web site that goes down the MAKE? MODEL? Route exclusively rather than also giving dimensions very frustrating when researching special applications

N J B shocks are very helpful. They custom make and have a very good finishes. P- S , Hagon do not supply 3/8 bore bushes only 10mm.

I am confident that if someone was to go to AVO with an original, they would be willing to supply a replacement with exactly the right open/closed lengths, the right bore and length bushes, the spring rate of your choice, and a damping characteristic based either on a good original or on our experience with C series units. They may also be willing to make cosmetic changes such as clear anodizing to look more period.

Contrary to what anyone might think, I don't have shares in AVO!

But I did speak to other companies about the "C" units before I went to AVO.
