12 volt battery (twin)

I am contemplating a change to 12 volts for my C twin,( J.G. regulator). There must be many members who have already done this, but is there a 12volt battery available of sufficient capacity that will fit into a replica battery box to preserve original appearance, or what is the common method of achieving this happy state? I do not want to mount it 'as is', as those I have seen done in this way look out of place, as does a purpose made plain metal box to accomodate the larger battery. All suggestions welcome.

We bought from Stafford an original (empty) battery box. Into this you can squeeze (maybe with a little help of a stanley knife) two 'Cyclon' 6volt batteries which are reasonably cheap, don't leak, work any way up and last for quite a while.
I bent some stainless steel that fits on the inside which you can then bolt through and bolt terminals on the outside of the box through the square holes rather than have wires snaking out making it easy to disconnect.
It seems to have worked so far! I'm afraid I can't say for the long term though. Please let me know what you think.

Burlen Fuel Systems www.burlen.co.uk Price £60 12volt in identical dimensions to original Choride. Rubber case looks matt black can be polished with furniture polish to get a sheen. Looks right and works a treat on my Comet with JG. Claims to keep its charge for up to a year. See ad in Old Bike Mart page 44 August 2007.

Thanks for suggestion, but I have found two x 6 volt batteries will fit but only produce 4 a/h/. in that size. A maintenance free YUASA 12 volt YTZ 7S--6 a/h is being tried (with a bit of shaving of box and battery ribs) and might just fit. Will try anyway.
