RH Insurance BE CAREFUL!

Good to hear that Simon found a sensible alternative to RH.
Like Simon, I have multiple bikes to insure and Hagerty seem very accommodating to include bikes being ridden and bikes that are laid up all on the same policy which works well for me.
My insurance renews in the next week or so and the quote I have from Hagerty is around £100 less than my previous insurer quoted. The only downside I can see with Hagerty is that their compulsory excess is quite high, but at least they are offering a workable level of cover.

I don't think you would have too much trouble they are car oriented and seem to miss some nuances that might worry others I have had no trouble with a trigrumph or a difazio hub center steerer and a grey flash in 95% race trim on the road

I'm with RH at the moment, I've specifically asked about cover for non runners and they've always said they are covered, I think I'll ask for this in writing now. When I spoke to Hagerty about 18 months ago they would only cover for a low annual mileage so I couldn't use them.

Am I the only one with "our" Carole ?.
I know she has made her money and gone, But I thought they did a good deal.
Hope I never have to Claim !.
For many years I had my box of bits Comet, Full Comp', Same as the other Road Bikes, All I gave them was the Engine number !, Then one day a bright spark thought , That's not a reg', And I had to change it for fire and theft. I don't like change. Cheers Bill.

A quick scan of Hagerty's information on their website didn't make it clear (to me:confused:) if their cover included third party cover for a vehicle not owned by the insured. This is/was usually the case with other insurances but having changed to Peter James last renewal this does not seem to be included. A friend sometimes offers me one of his bikes for VMCC runs or says take this up the road and see what you think so this third party cover would still enable me to do that easily.

If you're referring to RH, I as a fully comp policyholder am insured to ride other bikes not owned by them, basic third party only.

Since I have a modern bike that covers me 3rd party haggerty is low mileage but you can extend it or ignore it and face a fixed increased initial contribution in a claim situation (check the wording)

Just checked my Hagerty insurance certificate and it says I'm covered to use other vehicles 3rd party owned as long as the vehicle is not hired or owned by an employee and not something you use regular. It should also be insured by the owner and road legal. Looks std conditions to me but your in any doubt, ask Hagerty when asking for a quote.
