Recently in 'another place' the subject of electric starts for comets surfaced and soon died as a subject ,I wonder if it is more sucessful here.

Quite some while back François Grosset of the twin elec starter " Button Rouge" fame told me he was 'looking into' a Comet starter, but I've heard nothing since.

Hi Ian, Bob Dunn does one I have seen one in his shop fitted to a "Bored & Stroked" go much faster Comet. Spoke with him to day and he confirms it
was not a "one off " and would be pleased to quote for same.

Regards to all, Henry

I wondered: is there an electric start for the Comet now/still for sale ?
Would be very convenient for mounting a RH sidecar...

Hervé Hamon showed me a neat-looking prototype starter recently, that requires no alterations to any original parts of the Comet. Can be fitted in a morning.

I'm really amazed how many wonderful items are generated for Vincent motorcycles. And so sad that folks like me, here in the USA, are in the dark about them. I guess the only way to get in the know about whats available is for me to come over and buy a round or two at all the section meetings.

Now if I can only find a way to fit into a big envelope and post myself over.........
OR?

Hey Ken, your not the only one not in the know ;) may have to think about fitting one to save the load on my bad ankle (although it aint the 'kicking one, balancing on the footpeg may not be advantagious to recovery for a good few months).

Rob,

I know something about that myself. My orthopedic surgeon said that if I brake one more bone riding my motorcycles, he's going to sew my knees together so I can't sit on one.

Little does he know I have a side car too:eek:

Cheers and a quick healing,
