Regreased ? The amount of grease required is merely enough to just SMEAR the faces of the sprag. Any more than that is enough to stop the pivoting of the sprag inserts, that in turn means that the unit will slip , and not drive. Any further problems send the unit to me and I will check out.

Designed drives with sprag clutches for a long time, not overgreased and not slipping - the motor stalls. The drive is short of power, and the more I do the less I think it's the drive, and the more it seems to be the engine demand that's changed.

Howard,
Although I maybe criticised by Trev, I feel that the gauge of the cables used by F Grosset is to light.
I re-wired a bike for someone a few years back, and went for much better heavier gauge wires and had no further problems

Best of luck
Neil

The cables I use are about 70 amp - nearly as thick as my Egli frame. :):)

Bad news, I was giving the Egli a quick tidy/maintenance/tune for a track day on Saturday - it obviously didn't want to go. Good news '92 Fireblade is raring to go. Bad news, I think I'm 40 years too old for a Fireblade on a track ...................................... Oh, I don't know though. ;)

Yes, RIP William Dunlop.

If you get the chance, ride a Jap super sport. They're a bit soulless (ie don't break down) but the performance is exhilarating/stunning/gut wrenching/frightening/trouser staining/ licence losing ........ delete as applicable. I still prefer to ride my Egli, but put riding one on your bucket list.
