Today Comet is going back together. So nice to get Front and Rear connected.

Tomorrow I will take it for a ride!

Thanks again to all who offered advice and encouragement. I have learned much.

Look in "Richardson" for picture of Comet engine/gearbox unit. It shows where the H.T. lead should go. I'm not getting personal, but yours ain't long enough! A very pretty bike!

Not long enough???
No one has ever told me that before!

28 and 1/2 inches mate, possibly a little more if you point the pick-up downwards to preclude the ingress of moisture (and I'm still not getting personal here!) Cheers, and enjoy riding the bike.

Jerry, As soon as it starts, Check for oil returning to the the oil tank at the filler hole, Sometimes there is an air lock, Some of us like to prime the main feed pipe before re fitting it, Where it connects to the to the oil tank.
Cheers Bill.

Finished assembly today. Runs and no leaking fittings. No sticking valves.
The only thing I did not get fixed was the plug wire. I have wire, and intend to make the change. Just did not get to it. Forgive me chankly.
BTW, got the Dynamo and regulator working properly.

If you have a magneto ignition, run the cable downwards first from the pick-up. Slide the clip further forward on the return oil line such that the cable is held about half an inch from the head fins. A little dodge P.E.I. showed me was to twist the cable so that it is under tension to keep the little acorn nut on the pick-up closed. This also helps the cable to kick out from the head. You just need to remove the plug cap and twist it a couple of turns. Which control cable is running over the inlet rocker inspection cap? It won't have an easy bend in it, I fancy. Cheers.

Thanks for all the tips. I will get the adjustments made.
The cable above the intake rocker is for the compression release. I adjusted the routing a little today after riding the bike. It will take a while to sort out the little details.
