You do not need to be a Member of the Vincent H.R.D. Owners Club to join this forum. However, before you can gain access to it, you must first register. Anyone with a love for the Vincent/H.R.D. Marque is eligible to join. You may find it useful to print out these instructions and follow them while you're registering:
1. Click on register under the rear wheel of the Black Shadow;
2. Read and accept the Forum rules;
3. Type in the ‘user name’ you'd like — this can be anything you like (your nickname, your real name — absolutely anything you like, as long as it’s over five characters. It's not usual practice to use your e-mail address);
4. Enter the password you’d like, then confirm it in the box opposite;
5. Enter your e-mail address, then confirm it in the box opposite;
6. Enter the six digits that appear in the image. If they're difficult to read, click on the image, and a new set will appear. (This step is necessary in order to stop ‘spammers’ getting access to the system.);
7. The rest of the information on this page is pretty self-explanatory. Fill out the information, then click ‘Complete Registration’ at the bottom of the page;
8. If you get a message back that says “The string you entered for the image verification did not match what was displayed,” this just means the characters you entered for the image didn’t match. All you need do is try again;
9. Hopefully you’re now looking at a message telling you that an e-mail has been sent to you, to complete your registration;
10. Check your e-mail and you should see a message in your inbox — this should come through pretty quickly. Once you see the message, just click on the first link, and your account is now activated! It’s as easy as that.
11. Click on ‘Forums’ in the bottom of the message box, and you should be taken back to the VOC Forum and you’re up and running!
Congratulations, you’re now at a stage where you have access to the ‘public’ areas of the forum. However, if you're a full and paid-up Member of the VOC and you'd like your access privileges upgraded so you gain access to the full site and all of its features, you also need to carry out the following:
1. Log onto your User Control Panel (User CP) — at the top left of the menu bar, just underneath the rear wheel of the Black Shadow;
2. Under Miscellaneous, Click on ‘Group Memberships’;
3. There will be just one User Group available for you to join. Click on the button on the right hand side, followed by ‘Join Group’ at the bottom;
4. On the Join Request page, you will be required to enter your details in the following format: Membership Number — Full Name — Full Address. Please note that this upgrade process is carried out manually, so subsequently may take some time. Please be patient.
If you register for the forum with an AOL e-mail address, it's probable that AOL will block the e-mail that contains your activation codes. If you have registered, and haven't received your activation e-mail within ten minutes or so click here
